The PlayStation App will get a handy update in time for PS5

The PlayStation App is getting a new update rolling out today to prepare for the PlayStation 5 release.

The app will get an updated UI that allows you to do more from the home screen, as well as a reintegrated messaging system. Before, you needed an entirely different app to communicate with friends but now you’ll be able to use the PlayStation messaging system all within this app. PS Messages will no longer be available because of this change, but all your messages will be available in the updated PS App.

Though PS4 owners could remotely download games before, PS5 owners will be able to remotely launch games and manage the console’s storage remotely. If you’re downloading game and notice your PlayStation 5 is running out of space, you’ll be able to sign into the app and delete what you need to in order to make space.
