Xbox is giving away PC game passes but gamers have to check if they’re eligible

Over the weekend Microsoft 's Xbox Twitter account announced a nice little freebie for gamers with news they're giving away PC Game Pass trials to non-members absolutely free.

As always, there is a catch, and this time around its incumbent on players to have played one of Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 5 or Age of Empires 4 on PC from release until February 28, 2022. This also also includes Halo Infinite’s free-to-play multiplayer mode.

Assuming you fall into that oddly specific criteria, you'll be eligible for a 3 month trial of PC Games Pass.

Which is like Xbox Game Pass, except, well, it's available on your PC. If somehow you're still a little confused, have a watch of the trailer below featuring Lil Dicky and GaTa:

If you're still unsure whether you're actually entitled to this new freebie from Xbox, then users can check eligibility and claim the offer over on Microsoft’s website.

Once you click through just hit the “Check Eligibility” button and log in using the same Microsoft Account you used to play on PC.

If you are eligible, you will be given the chance to join PC Game Pass with 3 months free.

As noted on the Xbox website, when the 3-month trial ends you will be charged the then-current membership rate.

To stop being charged, you may cancel your subscription in your Microsoft account ( account.Microsoft.com/services ) at any time.
