Sony Offers Rare Discounts On PS Plus And PS Now Subscriptions

For the first time in quite a while, Sony is offering discounts on both of its PlayStation subscription services. 12-month subscriptions for PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now are 25% off right now, lowering the cost to $45 each for a limited time.

The PlayStation Plus offer is only for those without an active PS Plus subscription, so you cannot extend your subscription at a discount directly through Sony right now. However, for the past several months Ebay has had significantly discounted PS Plus subscriptions. As of now, you can still grab a 12-month PS Plus subscription–code delivered via email–at Ebay for $35. But for new subscribers or lapsed members who want to buy directly through Sony, the $45 price is the best deal you’ll find outside of Black Friday.

It’s a great time to sign up for PlayStation Plus, as the zany battle royale and breakout hit Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is one of August’s free games for subscribers. In addition to the freebies each month, PS Plus grants access to online multiplayer, cloud storage, and the occasional exclusive discount.

PS Now sort of flies under the radar, but it’s essentially Sony’s version of Xbox Game Pass. Each month, new games are added that can either be streamed or downloaded to your PS4. Notable games added in August include Hitman 2 and Dead Cells. At $45, PS Now is a pretty good deal that’s worthy of consideration.
