Sonic Poster Doesn’t Name Tails Voice Actor Colleen O’Shaughnessy

Sonic shocked the world in 2020 by starring in a live-action movie that was actually pretty good. Things were real touch and go the year before when the initial design for the blue blur was revealed to the world. A tweaked hedgehog and a short delay later, and not only did Sonic rake in a bunch of cash at the box office, but Paramount committed to at least one more movie, and that movie will be here in less than two months.

Trailers and new details have been coming thick and fast as its release date nears, and today an all-new poster for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was shared online. It pulls the shot from the new trailer in which Sonic and Knuckles can both be seen clashing in front of a bright green chaos emerald. Pretty cool, but fans have noticed a glaring omission from the credits.

As is commonplace for movie posters, a handful of the actors in leading roles can be found at the top. The problem with the new Sonic 2 poster is Colleen O'Shaughnessy's name is nowhere to be seen. It was revealed last year that O'Shaughnessy is voicing Tails in the movie. A step away from the other actors picked for the movie as unlike Sonic and Knuckles, Tails will be voiced by the same person who has voiced him everywhere else for the better part of the last decade.

Since Tails appears to have a key role in Sonic 2, it would make sense that O'Shaughnessy's name would be alongside the other major names at the top of the poster. Sadly, it's not. Ben Schwartz who voices Sonic, Idris Elba who voices Knuckles, Jim Carrey who plays Dr. Robotnik, and James Marsden are all up there, but O'Shaughnessy's name is not for some strange reason.

Sonic fans have been questioning why O'Shaughnessy has been omitted on social media, as you can see above. While not confirmed, the sad reality is O'Shaughnessy's name isn't as easily recognized as the big-time actors she is appearing alongside in the movie, and that might be why whoever pieced together the poster didn't include her name at the top. There's room up there for her without needing to remove someone else though, so hopefully she does make the cut in tweaked versions.
