Warner Bros. has an extensive catalogue of characters to pull from whether it's Terminator, Ed, Edd n Eddy, or even Austin Powers, but it looks like MultiVersus might be bringing a fan-made character into the fold – Big Chungus.
Big Chungus was a meme that blew up at the end of 2018. Simply put, he's a chubbier Bugs Bunny. It went viral as people passed it around as a fictional, made-up PS4 game that doesn't actually exist, not unlike the recent Arkham World that Reddit concocted, but Warner Bros. has now trademarked Big Chungus for use in a video game, complete with a drawing of his likeness.
It wouldn't be the first time that Big Chungus appeared in an official Warner Bros. game, either (thanks, Dexerto), as he made his gaming debut in the mobile game Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem. But how he would actually appear in MultiVersus remains to be seen, if it does happen at all – he could be his own character, though that might be too similar to Bugs Bunny, or he could be a cosmetic.
The trademark was reportedly filed on August 26 and it will allow Warner Bros. to use Big Chungus in a game, though the trademark filing doesn't specify which game. It could be anything from another mobile title to something unannounced, or it could be an update to MultiVersus. Speculation is rampant, though the popular belief right now is that he will be coming to the platform fighter.
Until developer Player First Games announces anything, or until Warner Bros. reveals where Big Chungus is cropping up, we'll have to wait and see. In the meantime, Rick Sanchez, Stripe, and Black Adam are set to join at some point, expanding MultiVersus' ever-growing roster. There are also rumours that Breaking Bad's Walter White has been pushed up, meaning that the meth-cooking father of two might be fist-fighting with Batman before we know it.
