Earlier this week, WB Games and NetherRealm officially announced Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath – a new expansion coming to MK11 that'll include Robocop, Sheeva and Fujin.
It's quite something based on the trailer and short story cinematic we've seen so far.
But despite players on all platforms being quite clearly over the moon with this announcement – especially with three new characters dropping all at once on May 26 – there is one thing bugging them.
Namely, where does this leave Kombat Pack 2?
As noted by the games website, Robocop, Sheeva and Fujin are listed as Aftermath characters, not Kombat Pack 2 characters.
Equally, past datamines of the game had indicated that MK11 could end up with 42 characters in total on the rosters.
With the release of Aftermath, we're only up to 34 characters – and intriguingly, we might already know who is coming next.

One of the biggest leaks in recent weeks pretty much nailed every detail about Mortal Kombat Aftermath. This leak on Reddit, made roughly one month ago, had virtually all details correct.
It name-dropped Aftermath specifically, Friendships, stages and much more.
But it also name-dropped further characters coming further down the line in Kombat Pack DLC.
Assuming this leak is the real deal, and to be honest, given how much detail it got right it seems a fair guess to say it is, we could see Havik and Daegon released in Kombat Pack 2.
The only detail which is wrong, concerns Ash Williams from Evil Dead, but further leaks in the past week suggest that legal issues (more on that further down) could see the Ash Williams deal derailed, with NetherRealm turning to Mike Myers instead to replace him.
If all of that wasn't tantalising enough, the same leak from roughly one month ago also mentions more characters being worked on for the final Kombat Pack in 2021. It reads:
"The characters that will be releasing in the final pack in 2021 are Quan Chi, Deathstroke, Ashrah, Kai and John Wick (voice and likeness by Keanu Reeves). This pack will also come with three new story mode chapters that let you play as, and against, some of the DLC characters in the confines of the MK11 plot which are all being worked on as we speak."
Hopefully, we'll learn more about the next Kombat Pack once Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath releases on May 26. For now, read on for a further explanation on why Ash Williams might no longer be in the game, despite being heavily rumoured for months.

Wait, so why no Ash Williams?
In an interview with Fansided, Campbell has quite candidly identified that it could be due to rights issues that Ash Williams has not made it into Mortal Kombat 11.
"I probably shouldn’t emphasize yes or no because I don’t know," Campbell responds when asked about whether he'll make the supposed MK appearance.
"I have not been told. If it is not through my agent or proper channels than it usually means its wishful thinking.
"The reason why it may not happen, just so you and the readers can know this, a lot of time for legal purposes, that character cannot appear in other things because of the license," Campbell responds when asked about the supposed MK appearance.
"If you can’t make a deal, that character is not going to show up. So, we may have been talked to about it."
