As you complete prospects in Icarus, you will eventually need tree sap. This sticky stuff can be a bit hard to obtain at first since there is no tree tapper or items for collecting sap. If you are struggling to find tree sap, we are here to help.

In this guide, we are going to go over how to get tree sap, as well as a few uses for it. Making tree sap is incredibly easy, so let's take a look at the required items that you need to unlock before making the sap.

Unlocking The Mortar And Pestle

Tree sap can be made by combining just four sticks at the mortar and pestle. Sticks are easy to obtain; you can find them as you start a new prospect. They can be collected from small trees or directly from the ground.

Although you can find sticks in no time, it may take you a little longer to unlock the mortar and pestle. This is a tier two object that can be created at the crafting bench.

Tier two objects will become available once you become level ten. Be sure to check out our guide on how to level up quickly if you are not level ten yet.

To make the mortar and pestle, you will need the following materials.

  • 4 Silica Ore
  • 12 Stone

Once built, all you need to do is place the mortar and pestle, add four sticks, and then start making tree sap.

Tree Sap Uses

Tree sap is a key ingredient for epoxy. This material is described as a 'hard-setting polymer', that you will need for a variety of higher-tier crafting recipes.

Epoxy can be crafted with one of the following recipes at the mortar and pestle.

Crafting Option 1Crafting Option 2
  • 2 Sulfur Ore
  • 4 Tree Sap
  • 4 Crushed Bone

Using sulfur and tree sap is a more efficient way of making epoxy; the materials are easy to obtain and you don't need to go out of your way to find them. Overall, tree sap is mainly used to craft other materials, that can be later used in more advanced blueprints.

That's all there is to know about tree sap! It is very easy to make this crafting ingredient, so be sure to invest a technology point into the mortar and pestle.
