GTA 6 voice actor says first trailer is soon – is probably wrong

Rockstar may be further along with GTA 6 than previously thought as a voice actor claims he was given permission to hype the reveal trailer.

The most reliable rumours at the moment suggest that Grant Theft Auto 6 is still several years out and will probably not launch until around 2025.

However, voice actor Dave Jackson claims on Facebook to have already provided voiceover work for a police chief character named Captain McClane (the same surname as Bruce Willis’ character from the Die Hard films).

Not only that but he insists that the first trailer for the game will be released ‘soon’ and that he’s specifically been given permission from the game’s producers to ‘spread the word’.

There’s a dozen different reasons to assume this isn’t true, including the general fact that, despite what you’d imagine, voice actors are a highly unreliable source of information and often get confused over dates and even what game they’ve been working on.

To prove that point Jackson has admitted to leaker Tom Henderson that he’s not actually sure if what he recorded was for GTA 6 or ‘another episode’ in GTA 5.

The idea that he’s recorded some dialogue for a new expansion for GTA Online, which has a trailer coming up, is perfectly believable.

However, if he’d been given permissions by Rockstar to promote it you’d think they’d make sure he knew what he was talking about (we’ve asked them to comment on the story and will update this article if they do).

Jackson has already deleted his original Facebook post about being in the game but added the new one about being given the go ahead by producers.

Although it’s perfectly plausible that he’s working on something new for GTA Online, since he is a real voice actor, nothing else in his story makes much sense and if there is a new GTA trailer soon it almost certainly won’t be for GTA 6.
