A detailed trailer for Far Cry 6’s post-launch content confirms three crossover DLC missions and explains more about the season pass.

Some information regarding Far Cry 6’s post-launch DLC had already been revealed, namely a season pass that allows you to play as the villains from the last three games. But a new trailer has provided more exact details about what to expect and has announced some free DLC to boot.

So far, additional content is planned to release up until March, with easily the most eye-grabbing of the bunch being three free crossover missions. The first of them is scheduled for December and will see player character Dani Rojas team up with actor Danny Trejo.

From the sound of it, Trejo will be playing as himself, although he is armed with a machete, no doubt referencing the character of Machete who Trejo plays in the titular films. His Trejo Tacos restaurant is even included as well.

The second mission is a Rambo crossover and will release in February. Unlike the Mortal Kombat and Call Of Duty crossovers, however, this one won’t feature Rambo himself, but rather a Rambo superfan.

The third mission coming in March will be a Stranger Things crossover and will involve Dani tracking down dog companion Chorizo who has gone missing. Exact details on all three missions are very scarce, with the trailer only showing footage for the Danny Trejo mission and confirming that they can be played solo or in co-op.

Before those, players can enjoy weekly Insurgencies, which begin starting from launch day. These will be simple combat challenges where the goal is to eliminate a swarm of enemies, with new gear acting as the reward.

And throughout October and November, six additional Special Operations will be made free to download. According to Ubisoft’s website, these will introduce new gameplay mechanics as players are tasked with snatching unstable chemical weapons and delivering them to an extraction point while also making sure they don’t overheat and explode.

As for the paid season pass, each of the three villain episodes are scheduled to release one at a time. Vaas from Far Cry 3 is first in November, followed by Pagan from Far Cry 4 in January, and finally Joseph from Far Cry 5 in February.

It turns out these episodes will feature some roguelike elements. You’ll start off with nothing but a pistol and must gather resources, which you can bring back to a safehouse to obtain upgrades, with which you can tackle tougher missions. These episodes can also be played in co-op.

And lastly, the season pass also comes with the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon expansion from 2013. Curiously, console owners will receive a remastered version of the game, while PC players will get the original version instead. And while it’s slated for December, Google Stadia owners won’t get their hands on it until 2022.

Far Cry 6 releases on October 7 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, Stadia, and Amazon Luna.
