Everything Announced During Xbox’s Developer Direct Showcase

Xbox and Bethesda treated everyone to a special showcase earlier today, detailing some of the highly-anticipated titles headed to Xbox and PC in the next few months. During the show, we were given further looks at titles like Redfall, Minecraft Legends, and Forza Motorsport, while Ghostwire: Tokyo developer Tango Gameworks surprised everyone with the shadow drop of what looks like one of the most stylish games of the year. If you missed the show, you can read up on everything that was announced down below.

Minecraft Legends Launches April 18, 2023

To kick things off, Mojang Studios gave us an extended gameplay trailer for Minecraft Legends, showcasing the game's base building mechanics as well as a variety of different features including procedurally generated maps and a PvP mode. More importantly, Mojang also announced that Minecraft Legends will launch on April 18 later this year for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch with a day-one launch on Xbox Game Pass.

Forza Motorsport Touts Over 500 Cars To Collect

Next up was Turn 10 Studios, which was on hand to give us a closer look at Forza Motorsport. While we didn't get a specific release date – instead choosing to keep its current 2023 release window – we did get more details and some general idea of how ambitious the title is going be. Forza Motorsport will have a single-player career mode alongside an online racing mode, over 500 cars to collect, 20 different environments to race in, and dynamic weather, in what Turn 10 describes as the "most technically advanced" racing game ever made.

Hi-Fi Rush Is The Next Game From Tango Gameworks, Releasing Today

Ghostwire: Tokyo and The Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks also had an announcement to make, and despite the game leaking a day before the showcase, it still managed to surprise pretty much everyone watching. Known for its spookier titles, Tango shocked everyone with the announcement of Hi-Fi Rush, a colorful action-adventure/rhythm game that sees you take on the role of wannabe rockstar Chai. Better yet, it's available to play right now, as Tango pulled off one of the greatest shadow drops the industry has ever seen.

Redfall Release Date Revealed, Launches May 2

Arkane Studios also made an expected appearance with its upcoming vampire slaying game Redfall. Alongside a deep dive into some new gameplay footage, we also finally got the announcement of a release date, as Redfall is now confirmed to be launching on May 2 for both Xbox Series X and PC. The gameplay footage shown beforehand gave us a further look at the village of Redfall in which the game takes place, as well as character abilities, vampires you'll need to take down, and handcrafted locations that will help tell Redfall's story.

Finally, Bethesda itself also took center stage with the reveal of a new expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online. The upcoming Necrom expansion and Scribes of Fate DLC will give players the chance to revisit Morrowind for the first time since 2017, as you'll be tasked with taking down the Scribes of Mora. The Scribes of Fate DLC is set to launch on March 13 for PC and March 28 for consoles, while the Necrom expansion will launch in June later this year, introducing a new playable class called the Arkanist.
