Cyberpunk 2077: All Unique Power Weapons, Ranked

Cyberpunk 2077 is not a stealth game. It’s not a sniper simulator. It’s an action-adventure game. So why not act like it? Techs and smart weapons have their place in the game, but nothing embraces the mayhem of Night City like a power weapon unleashing streams of bullets off the walls and letting the ricochet take care of any remaining enemies.

However, not all power weapons are created equal. The “spray and pray” technique only works if you have a gun that can do a lot of spraying and doesn’t need too much praying. That’s why it’s important to look at the list of power weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 and decide which ones fit your playstyle and which ones are better off getting sold for eddies.

22 Second Opinion

  • Inaccessible.

The worst kind of gun is the one you can never have. In the official strategy guide, the Second Opinion is located inside of Maiko’s Office during the Automatic Love mission. However, no matter how hard you try, the door remains locked and cannot be opened. So there is a gun in there, but nobody knows if it’s any good. They should rename it to Schrodinger’s Revolver.

21 Plan B

  • Pistol.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Increases chance to get bleed effects.
  • Each shot costs eddies.

The gun is already weak on DPS, but when you lose money every time you fire it, that’s downright criminal. Unlike most games like this, the standard currency is hard to come by in Cyberpunk 2077. If you do everything in the game and loot every room you step into, you will still not have enough money to complete your car collection. Using this gun means you might not even be able to afford the gasoline for your starter car.

20 Mox

  • Shotgun.
  • Iconic: Muzzle reduces bullet spread.
  • Low reload speed.

The Mox is a shotgun, which should thrive on the pellets ricocheting everywhere. But this gun applied two abilities that clash with the nature of a power weapon. The bullet spread is reduced so fewer pellets will go flying and then reload speed is slowed down. Sorry, but two negatives don’t make a positive.

19 Problem Solver

  • Submachine Gun.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.

The developers might have forgotten to give this gun an ability. It’s the only gun that is iconic and yet lacks an iconic effect. It has a chance to apply bleed effects, but so do most submachine guns and assault rifles that the pedestrians are holding. Without anything special, this is kind of the ground floor of iconic weapons.

18 Dying Night

  • Pistol.
  • Iconic: Increases headshot damage by 50%. Reduces reload time.

This gun is received from a vendor for free, so maybe it’s rude to complain. The extra headshot damage is nice when paired up with a silencer. It makes the first few stealth missions easier since enemies can be brought down with a quick pop; however, the DPS is really quite reduced, making the Dying Night very poor in a fight, especially if you have the common sense silencer attached.

17 Sovereign

  • Double-Barrel Shotgun.
  • Iconic: Both shots are fired at once if the gun is discharged while aiming. Reduced reload time and bullet spread.

If someone really doesn’t like using melee weapons, this is an appropriate alternative. It blasts both shells at the same time when aiming it, so any enemies in the room with you will get ripped up, just be careful with your aim because of that reduced bullet spread. The reduced reload time is pleasant, though a nice katana likely does better DPS up close.

16 Amnesty

  • Revolver.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Improves damage and reduces weapon recoil.

For anyone who really loves pistols and wants one that’s just a little bit better than the standard version, this should be their go-to. Adding a bit of damage and reducing recoil is nice, especially for a power weapon designed to fire multiple projectiles. The Amnesty is nothing too exceptional, but if it is the only option, it will beat out non-iconic alternatives.

15 Archangel

  • Revolver.
  • Deals electrical damage and has a chance to apply shock effects.
  • Iconic: Reduces recoil significantly.

Here’s a great pistol to have if the scene turns sour. This gun’s iconic effect takes care of the revolver’s biggest problem; the recoil. This allows for more accurate shots to be fired. That goes hand-in-hand with the electrical damage, since each shot has a chance to shock and stun the targets, both when fired and on the ricochet.

14 Pride

  • Pistol.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Chance to stun the target. Increased headshot damage and crit chance.

Stun effects and power weapons go together like peanut butter and jelly. The headshot damage and crit chance can take down even tough bosses with just a few shots. The major disadvantage here is the very low damage totals, so if this is your cup of tea, make sure to get some practice in at the firing range as those headshots will be needed.

13 O’Five

  • Sniper Rifle.
  • Deals thermal damage and has a chance to apply burn effects.
  • Iconic: Any ammo type automatically becomes explosive.

Sniper rifles aren’t a natural fit for the power weapon genre and this is a good example of why not. Sniper rifles fire slowly and won’t really make use of the ricochet since you’ll be aiming through a scope. And the chance to apply a burn effect is low, so it really only functions well on guns with bigger clips and fire rates. The explosive rounds are a nice touch, though, so the O’Five is still a great sniper choice.

12 Moron Labe

  • Assault Rifle.
  • Iconic: Chance to dismember target. Increased rate of fire.

With a name like “Moron Labe,” you might be thinking that this gun is a parody and, therefore, a joke weapon. Not at all. The increased fire rate and chance to dismember is fantastic in close quarters; just unload wildly and watch the carnage.

11 Doom Doom

  • Revolver.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Fires four rounds per shot. Increases chance to dismember. Increased damage and rate of fire.
  • Increased recoil and bullet spread.

As a revolver that fires four shots at once, the Doom Doom needs to reload a lot, but the effects of this weapon and the ricochet possibilities mean a couple of rounds should be everything you need. It’s got two penalties that make the aim more difficult, but that’s what power weapons are there for.

10 Crash

  • Revolver.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Charging for a moment when firing enables the rest of the rounds to be fired automatically. Decreased recoil and bullet spread.
  • Decreased rate of fire.

The decreased rate of fire is only applied if using this revolver like a regular gun and shooting one bullet at a time. Come on, these are power weapons, use the automatic fire. The increased accuracy will help you maintain control while the weapon quickly discharges all of its shots. As a revolver, only about half of the clip needs to land for the target to go down.

9 La Cingona Dorada

  • Pistol.
  • Deals thermal damage and has a chance to apply burn effects.
  • Extra mod slot.
  • Iconic: Chance to stun targets when hit. Faster reload time.

This is Jackie’s gun. After firing a few rounds, you’ll understand why he’s so confident that he will come home after any dangerous situation. The DPS isn’t anything to brag about, but the burn chance is high. Combine that with the stun and faster reload time and you’re in for a treat. Oh, and don’t forget that extra mod slot. This can bring that low DPS up to par in an instant.

8 Buzzsaw

  • Submachine Gun.
  • Iconic: Comes with a unique mod that fires rounds that penetrate light cover.

The appropriately named Buzzsaw typifies what power weapons are supposed to be all about. The damage is high, the fire rate is higher, and the bullets go through enemy cover. You no longer have to wait for targets to be exposed, just saw them down with this.

7 Prejudice

  • Assault Rifle.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Projectiles pierce light cover.

Piercing cover is good. Applying bleed effects is fine. But that damage! Did somebody misplace a digit in the math somewhere? The damage is extreme and assault rifles make great use of the power weapon’s special features. It’s a terrifying sight for those who live long enough to catch a glimpse.

6 The Headsman

  • Shotgun.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Doubles number of projectiles. Increases bleed effect chance. Increases dismemberment chance. Reduced reload time.
  • Increases spread, reduced rate of fire, and reduced clip capacity.

There are three penalties applied to this weapon. They don’t matter. Doubling the number of projectiles on a shotgun is ruinous for your opponents. Close range, mid-range, any range, after the pellets ricochet everywhere, it’ll turn even the strongest opponents into swiss cheese.

5 Kongou

  • Pistol.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Iconic: Allows the power weapon to function without the prerequisite cybernetics. Reduced recoil and increased fire rate.
  • Reduced magazine size.

Players who don’t have the cybernetics to pull off a power weapon will take heart in knowing that one of the best power weapons does not have any prerequisites to use. The rate of fire is high, the recoil is low, and the reduced magazine size doesn’t matter when targets can’t survive a few well-placed bullets from this gun anyhow.

4 Psalm 11:6

  • Assault Rifle.
  • Deals thermal damage and has a chance to apply burn effects.
  • Iconic: Thermal damage is increased, as is the likelihood to apply burn effects.

For those who found themselves wishing that Cyberpunk 2077 had a flamethrower, they can wish no more. Metal turns to flame on impact. The ricochet shots keep this high chance to burst into flames, so blast away in a crowded room and let the scorching begin.

3 Malorian Arms 3516

  • Pistol.
  • Deals thermal damage and has a chance to apply burn effects.
  • Iconic: Unique reload sequences.

Part of the way through the story, you’ll get a chance to play as Johnny Silverhand. He uses a pistol that is better than anything available up to that point in the game and it will make you jealous. This is that pistol. Enjoy.

2 Fenrir

  • Submachine Gun.
  • Deals thermal damage and has a chance to apply burn effects.
  • Iconic: Reduced bullet spread and increases bullet impact.
  • High recoil.

High recoil? Who cares! This gun makes each bullet do more damage. As a submachine gun with a burn effect, you can potentially use the better fire rate to out-flame the Psalm 11:6. Regardless of someone’s luck getting people to catch on fire, the damage on this is unquestionably high.

1 Overwatch

  • Sniper Rifle.
  • Chance to apply bleed effects.
  • Has a built-in silencer
  • Iconic: Faster reload speed.

OK, so we already know that sniper rifles don’t really need the power designation because they don’t rely on bullet ricochet. That is still true. But somebody sat on a keyboard and accidentally made this gun do too much damage. Like, unnecessary damage. Play the entire game and you’ll never see a five-digit damage number until you try this out.

On top of that, the Overwatch has a built-in silencer. Silencers ordinarily reduce damage output substantially, but this one does not. This is the best sniper rifle in the game, one that leaves enemies wondering where your strikes are coming from. It’s filthy, enjoy it.
