Marvel's Avengers closed out 2021 with the addition of Spider-Man to its roster. The lack of information regarding what's next continues to have some players worried. Even more so for non-PlayStation players who haven't been given anything significant since the War For Wakanda expansion. While nothing official has been confirmed for the future just yet, industry insider Miller claims there is a lot to come for Avengers in 2022 and possibly beyond.
Miller was the leaker whose tweet Krizia Bajos shared revealing she will be voicing She-Hulk. They have also claimed another character will be added before She-Hulk, possibly Yelena or Shuri. Those possible reveals are just the tip of the iceberg. Smoky_Cave has compiled a full rundown of possible additions coming to Avengers according to Miller on Reddit, and there's a lot to get through.
One of the highlights is the possibility of Ultron's arrival. Apparently, the supervillain will be added to the game either at the same time or before She-Hulk arrives, which Miller claims will be in April at the very latest. The leaker is also confident Captain Marvel will be added to the roster, possibly at the same time as War Machine. That will likely be what closes out season two, and while there's no talk of what's to come in season three, they expect all of the ongoing and future threads to have been tied up by that point.
Miller has also said the mystery character will likely be on the same level as Spider-Man. Not in terms of recognition level, but in what will be added to the game. No individual arc or new bosses, but what was referred to as a “hero event” for the web-slinger. That is speculation on behalf of the Avengers community though, not a leak. As for She-Hulk, she will be getting the same treatment as Kate Bishop and Hawkeye, as will Bucky who will presumably be added to the game in the near future too.
A lot for Avengers players to be excited about, even if only half of the above comes true. Even though none of it has been officially announced, it's probably safe to assume Square Enix isn't going to throw in the towel on Avengers just yet.
