Pre-order details for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have leaked, confirming the game’s cross-gen and has a PlayStation first beta.
We only earned of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s release date thanks to a low-key Twitter announcement but now more details about its release have been shared, albeit not officially.
On the same day as the announcement, Call Of Duty: Vanguard and Call Of Duty: Warzone received a new update, which added new weapons, a new multiplayer map for Vanguard, and other content.
Dataminers have scoured the new files added to the games and discovered information pertaining to Modern Warfare 2. Specifically, three different editions for the game – standard, cross-gen, and Vault edition – and their respective content.
A new Call Of Duty having multiple special editions to choose from isn’t at all surprising, but we can glean some interesting details from the leak.
For starters, the existence of the cross-gen bundle confirms that Modern Warfare 2 will still release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, rather than be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
All three editions also provide early access to an open beta when pre-ordered. While that could easily have been assumed, said beta will be available on PlayStation platforms first.
