After arriving on PC earlier this month, the Sage class is now available to Black Desert players on PS4 and Xbox One. The ancient character’s arrival is being celebrated with an in-game event, giving you a chance to earn exclusive equipment, enhancement items, and massive EXP buffs.
The Sage is a spell-casting class that relies on devastating offensive abilities. Many of his moves take a few seconds to execute, but can easily wipe out entire groups of enemies. Sage’s skillset is built around his past of “researching astrology and ancient weapons,” which gives him the upper hand in battle. Here are a few of his unlockable skills:
- Spatial Collapse unleashes destruction to inflict massive damage to enemies in the area and weaken their DP.
- Rift Chain can instantly move short distances, even past obstacles that stand in his way.
Sage is also the only class in BDO that can access Hystria Ruins and Aakman Temple dungeons without entry items.
“Sage, a scholarly denizen of an ancient civilization, was the first person to discover the Black Spirit as it hurtled through space toward the earth,” Pearl Abyss announced. “To prepare and protect the world, Sage built an ancient weapon research facility: Atoraxxion. With 49 years until the Black Spirit comet crashed to earth, Sage sealed himself away to face the force in his prime.”
To mark Sage’s arrival on consoles, Pearl Abyss is throwing an in-game celebration. Roll a new Sage character and you can earn the following rewards:
- Complete the quests designed for Sage and you’ll earn a 7 days value package, Eyes of the Wise, Atoraxxion Chandelier, and Trainer’s Flute.
- Level Sage to 62 before April 28 and you’ll earn Cron Stones, Advice of Valks, Gold Bars, Artisan Memory, Laila’s Petal, and Shakatu’s Rare Chest.
- Hunt down Kyve to receive a 300% buff to skill EXP and 100% buff to combat EXP.
Black Desert is off to a strong start in 2021 and shows no signs of slowing. Pearl Abyss recently revealed the upcoming Crimson Desert is not an MMORPG and will have little impact on BDO’s development. In fact, the team plans for it to stick around for at least another five years.
