The PBX 45 is the very first SMG you start with in Battlefield 2042 before you get your hands on the likes of the K30 and PP-29. You might be tempted to jump right to those higher-level SMGs, but don't sleep on the PBX.

The PBX 45 basically combines the PP-29 and K30 into one package, making it one of the most versatile and reliable SMGs in the game. This attachment guide covers how to get the most out of this underrated weapon.

The PBX has excellent low recoil, though its damage output at range does start to suffer. It's a bit like the PP-29 at launch but with fewer bullets and less damage. Still a powerful gun, though. Here's our attachment guide.

  • SightFusion Holo. Easy pickup for the PBX. We even ran it with the iron sights for a while as we worked our way up to the Holo and they're probably one of the best iron sights in the game.
  • Ammo – You should keep two mags on your loadout T – the Close Range and the Extended. Don't pay attention to the mag sizes because they're all broken right now. The Close Range puts out a lot of fire and helps you drill down enemy players at close to medium range.
  • Barrel Tactical Muzzle Break. This is a go-to choice for the PBX as the Horizontal Recoil is almost non-existent. This helps you control that vertical recoil at close to medium range.
  • Underbarrel – You've got two options here, too – the Laser Sight and the Light Grip. Both are viable. The Laser Sight improves an already fantastic hipfire with the PBX so it's not to be overlooked. If you're just getting used to the PBX you might want to take a grip to reduce recoil.

The PBX is a highly overlooked weapon in the game and often skipped over when players get the high level SMGs. However, it absolutely beams at close range and you can get some decent kills at medium range, too.
