The Dawn Of Ragnarök DLC for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been confirmed as real, as has a surprise crossover with Odyssey.
Although all the Assassin’s Creed games are nominally connected by the same modern day backstory (aka, the bit no one likes about the franchise) there’s never been any interaction between the leads of each game, since most come from vastly different time periods.
That will now change with Assassin’s Creed Crossover Stories, a newly announced slice of free DLC that involves two new stories featuring Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, one of which will be added to Odyssey and the other of which will be added to Valhalla.
Kassandra will face off against the female version of Evior (the default, as far as Valhalla is concerned), although no doubt there’ll be an actual baddie getting in both their ways. You’ll be able to find out very soon though as they’re both out tomorrow, December 14.
As one of the most popular player characters in the whole series, Kassandra’s return will be welcomed by many, with the name Crossover Stories implying there might be more to come, for other combinations of characters, in the future.
The surprise announcement was made at the same time as the paid-for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLC Dawn Of Ragnarök, which had leaked earlier in the day.
As rumoured, the game seems to cast you as Odin inhabiting the body of male Evior, with a retelling of Ragnarök that will be familiar from everything from God Of War to the Marvel movies.
In gameplay terms though it does seem to mean a significantly different gameplay style, with Odin bringing with him all manner of magic abilities and the pre-rendered trailer implying a more action-oriented approach.
