China Dota2 Pro Cup saw two
series today, one in the lower bracket and the upper bracket finals – a gigantic
battle of two teams playing with their new rosters: PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming.
The penultimate day of China’s
Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1 has just come to an end, with only three teams now remaining
and one already having claimed their place in the grand finals after the upper
bracket finals. However, prior to that, the lower bracket saw EHOME and Phoenix
Gaming going head-to-head in what turned out to be an epic series. Although
unknown, Phoenix were able to dominate much of the series, even claiming a
solid victory in the first game – but the skill and persistence of EHOME paid
off huge as they came back twice on the brink of elimination and secure a 2-1
victory and move into the lower bracket final.
Next up would be that amazing
battle between two teams once considered the best in the region as Vici and
PSG.LGD took to the stage for what would be some great Dota 2 action. Although
game one went back and forth, with both teams doing their best to claim the
early lead in the best-of-three series, VG saw themselves constantly falling behind
and unable to really ever take a fight in their favour. Luckily for VG, they had
game two in which to hopefully make a comeback into the series, the likes of
which we’ve seen from many teams in the event. While they seemed to get a small
lead in the mid-game period, it was quickly snatched away as LGD found their
footing and pummeled VG into submission.
With the victory, PSG.LGD become the first grand finalist at China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1, a best-of-five series which will take place tomorrow right after the lower bracket final between EHOME and Vici Gaming decides their challenger.
