French esports talent management agency Prodigy Agency announced that it has raised €1M EUR ($1.21M USD) from French esports venture capital fund Trust Esport. The agency represents more than 80 players around the world, including young Counter-Strike: Global Offensive talent Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut and League of Legends veteran Paul “sOAZ” Boyer.
Prodigy revealed that it plans to use the investment proceeds to invest in player health and performance, marketing and image development of its players, and recruiting to expand its team, including talent agent, marketing, and sales and sponsorship positions. Furthermore, the agency is looking to financially support its global expansion with a focus on the U.S., South Korea, and China.
The company additionally announced that it plans “to contribute and pave the way to a regulation of esports backing players’ careers and rights, in accordance to the game industry policies, along with the sports and esports governing bodies.”
