OMEGA League: Europe Immortal Division kicked off with its
group stage today as six teams across the two groups would see their opening
series, including OG, Alliance and Virtus.pro.
Group stages at OMEGA League: EU Immortal Division would be
a brutal affair with each of the twelve teams playing five best-of-three series
in their groups – all of which begun today with Natus Vincere taking on 5men.
Na’Vi were still trying to find their footing, after some recent roster changes
and would be hoping to make a great start to their OMEGA League run with 5men
having their first event together as a team – with a mix of well-known players
among their roster. Although Na’Vi did really well to tie up the series after a
dominant game one from 5men, they could not close out the series as they
dropped 1-2 in their opening series of the event.
Following this would see OG taking on Vikin.gg with Io making
an appearance in all three series, with OG going back to their famous ball of
light whenever possible. Game one was an amazing show from Vikin.gg, who ripped
their opponent’s apart, leaving Johan ‘n0tail’ Sundstein’s Io at 0-14-14 over

Closing out the day at OMEGA League would be an epic series between
Virtus.pro and Alliance, with the latter having recently had an amazing showing
at OGA Dota PIT Season 2: EU/CIS, while VP had not seen anything except the CIS
Parimatch League Season 3 since June. After being absolute crushed in the first
game of the series, VP were on the back foot as they looked set to be the first
team to not go to the full three games on day one of the event. While things went
back and forth for nearly an hour, with VP even looking as though they would
take us to a game three on multiple occasions, it was not the case as a Alliance
managed to hold on and claim a 2-0 victory.
With that, day one at OMEGA League: EU Immortal Division
comes to an end as we look toward the next day of group stage action tomorrow
which will see the likes of Evil Geniuses, Team Nigma and Ninjas in Pyjamas
getting their tournament runs started.
