Gaming and esports analytics firm Newzoo announced Friday a partnership with Southeast Asian esports organization EVOS Esports. Under the terms of the new partnership, EVOS will provide Newzoo insights into the region, while the analytics firm will support EVOS “to benchmark and spot opportunities” and “provide strategic insights” to help it with its expansion in the region. EVOS operates 15 professional teams across five countries in Southeast Asia.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
EVOS will also provide Newzoo (which is part of Leaders Group, the portfolio of which includes The Esports Observer) with information on the mobile gaming and esports market, which the analytics firm will use as part of its esports estimates, to further enhance its Global Esports Market Report and the Newzoo Platform.
Newzoo’s other partners include Newbee, Reddit, Streamlabs, and Team Liquid.
Earlier this month, Newzoo revised its 2020 esports revenue estimates downward—from $973.9M USD globally to $950.3M—due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the industry, especially live events.
