Fortnite developers are working on a new healing item for future release.
Epic Games is no stranger to introducing new concepts in Fortnite: Battle Royale. Since the debut of Chapter 2 over a year ago, several new weapons and items have appeared in various patches and seasons. Flair Guns, Flame Traps and Crash Pads are just a handful that made it into Battle Royale mode. Some have been forgettable and others memorable. Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 1 introduced the Bandage Bazooka as one of the more innovative items. This healing cannon occupies two inventory slots, launches bandages and rapidly heals its target. It replenishes health much quicker than a Med-Kit or regular Bandages.
It seems Epic has not entirely abandoned the healing cannon concept. Fortnite leakers HYPEX and intercellular have confirmed that Epic Games is working on a Slurp Bazooka.
What is a Slurp Bazooka?
There’s almost no information available regarding the subject of HYPEX’s tweet. All that we know is that a Slurp Bazooka is on the way. We can surmise that it will work similarly to the Bandage Bazooka. The Bandage Bazooka spawns with five shots, which recharge over time. It occupies two inventory slots, making it one of the more unique concepts in Fortnite history. However, it only heals normal health.

Epic might be looking to mirror the same properties in this new Slurp Bazooka. The only difference would be that the Slurp Bazooka heals both normal health and shield. Perhaps it could utilize a splash effect, similar to the Chug Splash, where one player could soak themselves or a teammate with the Slurp liquid. Whatever the case may be, it’s an intriguing idea that would be much more useful than the Bandage Bazooka.

Epic Games has already begun the testing phase of Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5, so we might see the Slurp Bazooka next season. HYPEX also mentioned a potential Snowman non-player character (NPC) that Epic might introduce in the future. The developers might be preparing for a Winter-themed season or their annual holiday event. Only time will tell what will come next in the ever-evolving Fortnite: Battle Royale.
