Engine Media announced that it has signed a deal with television maker Vizio to include its 24-hour esports channel, UMG.TV, on VIZIO smart TVs. UMG.TV will now be available on all VIZIO smart TVs that come standard with the SmartCast OS installed.
Engine Media’s UMG.TV features live and on-demand professional and collegiate esports events, and in addition to SmartCast, it is available as an app on the Apple iOS devices and the Apple TV platform.
Earlier this year UMG secured broadcasting rights for the Gears 5 Esports Challenger Series and Overwatch Collegiate Series.
VIZIO is the second largest TV maker in the United States, according to retail market research firm NPD Group.
In August, Torque Esports officially changed its name to Engine Media Holdings, Inc. Engine Media is the parent company of UMG, Stream Hatchet, Eden Games, IDEAS + CARS, The-Race.com, WTF1, Frankly, and WinView. In October of 2019 Torque Esports and UMG Media entered into an agreement whereby Torque acquired UMG.
