daps stepping down from Gen.G; future in CSGO in uncertain

Damian “daps” Steele is set to step down from his role as in-game leader for Gen.G the player has revealed. “Today another chapter of my career has ended,” the Canadian said to open up the announcement.

daps went into details regarding his decision to step down and cited internal disagreements on how to move forward as a team in addition to the lack of LANs and the cancellation of the Major which he said was a main part of his decision to hold out on leaving over the last few months.

“The reason for this decision is something I’ve been thinking about for a while now (about 3-4 months) and is a bi product of a lot of issues within the team including myself but the major was what was stopping me from leaving. There had been some in and out of game changes I wanted over the past 6 months that I thought would of made the team better but were not agreed upon by all,” daps said.

What will daps do now? Well he’s not sure yet. While he says he’d love to stay and compete in Counter-Strike, he’s not closed to the idea of making the swap to another game like VALORANT.

“As for the future I still love CS and would ideally like to IGL a team I feel is the right fit for me but if moving on as a player or leaving CS is the route I have to take then I will cross that bridge when I know more,” he explained.
